About Selitys.fi

Selitys.fi is a question-and-answer website in Finnish and English. It answers questions that start with what, how or why, on subjects ranging from solar panels and renovations to sports, rest and human rights. The answers are grouped into categories, so a topic can also be found by browsing.

Why was this site created?

People type thousands of questions into search engines every day, and the answer often exists but is buried in the middle of a long article. Selitys.fi was created to give a direct, short and understandable answer first, and a more detailed explanation after it when needed.

Who is this site for?

The site is for anyone who wants a quick answer to a single question. The English section explains the same topics for readers who do not speak Finnish.
