The European Union is a political and economic union that includes 27 European countries. Located in North Africa and the Middle East, Egypt is an independent country that is not part of the EU. In the following, the relationship between Egypt and the EU and Egypt&#8217;s position in the international community will be discussed in more detail.<\/p>\n<h2>Geographical location of Egypt<\/h2>\n<p>Egypt is located in the northeastern part of Africa and its border neighbors are Libya in the west, Sudan in the south, and Israel and the Gaza Strip in the northeast. In the north, Egypt is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea and in the east by the Red Sea. Geographically, Egypt belongs to Africa and the Middle East, not Europe.<\/p>\n<h2>Member States of the European Union<\/h2>\n<p>The European Union currently includes 27 member states, which are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Belgium<\/li>\n<li>Bulgaria<\/li>\n<li>Czech Republic<\/li>\n<li>Denmark<\/li>\n<li>Germany<\/li>\n<li>Estonia<\/li>\n<li>Ireland<\/li>\n<li>Greece<\/li>\n<li>Spain<\/li>\n<li>France<\/li>\n<li>Croatia<\/li>\n<li>Italy<\/li>\n<li>Cyprus<\/li>\n<li>Latvia<\/li>\n<li>Lithuania<\/li>\n<li>Luxembourg<\/li>\n<li>Hungary<\/li>\n<li>Malta<\/li>\n<li>Netherlands<\/li>\n<li>Austria<\/li>\n<li>Poland<\/li>\n<li>Portugal<\/li>\n<li>Romania<\/li>\n<li>Slovenia<\/li>\n<li>Slovakia<\/li>\n<li>Finland<\/li>\n<li>Sweden<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Egypt is not part of this list because it is not located in Europe and has not applied for EU membership.<\/p>\n<h2>Cooperation between Egypt and the EU<\/h2>\n<p>Even though Egypt is not an EU country, it has significant cooperative relations with the European Union. The EU and Egypt have concluded several agreements covering economic, political and social cooperation. These agreements include, among others, the Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement, which was signed in 2001 and entered into force in 2004. This agreement promotes trade, investment and political dialogue between the EU and Egypt.<\/p>\n<h2>Egypt&#8217;s position in the international community<\/h2>\n<p>Egypt is an active member of many international organizations, such as the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU) and the Arab League. It is also part of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Through these organizations, Egypt participates in global decision-making and international cooperation.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary<\/h2>\n<p>Egypt is not an EU country, but it has close cooperation relations with the European Union.
