Argentina is an independent nation that has been independent from Spain since 1816. It is one of the largest and most economically significant countries in Latin America.<\/p>\n<h2>Argentina-EU relations<\/h2>\n<p>Although Argentina is not a member of the EU, it has important economic and political relations with the European Union. Argentina is part of the Mercosur trade union, which also includes Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
