What is Writers’ Day?

Writers’ Day is an annual holiday dedicated to writers and their work. The day is celebrated in different countries at different times, but most often it falls in October or November. Writers’ Day is intended to highlight the importance of writers in society and celebrate their creative work.

In Finland, Writers’ Day is celebrated on November 10. The purpose of the day is to highlight the importance of Finnish writers as guardians of cultural heritage and storytellers. Various events are organized on Writers’ Day, such as author visits to schools and special programs in libraries.

Writers’ Day is also a good opportunity to remember and appreciate all those writers who have given us unforgettable reading experiences and provoked thoughts through their works. It is a day when we can thank writers for their work and recognize them for their creative contribution to society.
