What is the tallest building in Finland?

Finland’s tallest building is currently the Majakka located in Tampere, which is part of the Tampere Kansi ja Areena complex. The lighthouse was completed in 2020 and its height is 134 meters. This makes it the tallest residential building in Finland and at the same time also the tallest building in general.

Beacon features

Majakka is a 29-story residential building that offers modern apartments and wonderful views over Tampere. The building is designed to withstand Finland’s changing weather conditions and is equipped with modern amenities, such as fast elevators and energy-efficient solutions.

Other tall buildings in Finland

Even though Majakka is currently the tallest building in Finland, there are also other significant tall buildings in the country. Here are some examples:

  • Cirrus – an 86-meter high residential building located in Vuosaari, Helsinki, which was completed in 2006.
  • Redi Majakka – A 134-meter high residential building located in Helsinki’s Kalasatama, which was completed in 2019. It was the tallest building in Finland before the completion of the Tampere Majakka.
  • Torni – an 88.5 meter high hotel located in Tampere, completed in 2014.

Future plans

Several new tall buildings are being planned in Finland, which may challenge Majaka’s position as the tallest building in the future. For example, the Tripla tower house planned for Pasila, Helsinki, may rise to a height of up to 180 meters, which would clearly make it the tallest building in Finland.
