Holy Day is a Christian holiday that is celebrated in many countries in different ways. In Finland, All Saints’ Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of November. All Saints’ Day is originally a Catholic holiday dedicated to the memory of all saints, both known and unknown. The purpose of All Saints’ Day is to pray and remember deceased loved ones and other holy persons.

The roots of the holiday go back to the fourth century, when martyrs and other holy persons began to be remembered on special holidays. Originally, All Saints’ Day was celebrated in May, but later it was moved to November. All Saints’ Day is also related to the Catholic belief that dead souls need prayers to get to heaven.

Holiday is celebrated in many countries in different ways. Traditions in Finland include visiting graves, lighting candles and attending memorial services. All Saints’ Day is also one of the few holidays when cemeteries are full of visitors who remember their deceased loved ones.
