What is security?

Security

Security is a state where people, communities and the environment can live and work without threat or danger. It covers many different areas, such as physical, social, economic and environmental security. Physical security means, for example, protection from violence and accidents, while social security is related to trust between people and well-being. Financial security, on the other hand, refers to a feeling of stability and security in the financial situation. Environmental safety, on the other hand, means protecting the environment and safeguarding health.

Safety is an important part of well-being and quality of life. It creates the basis for the activities of people and society and enables a free and safe life. Lack of a sense of security can cause stress, anxiety and uncertainty, which negatively affects people’s well-being and quality of life.

Safety can be promoted in many different ways, such as legislation, safety training, safety arrangements and preventive measures. Society’s task is to create safety-promoting structures and operating models that safeguard the well-being of people and the environment.
