What is girls day?

Day of the Girl is an international themed day dedicated to the promotion of girls’ rights and equality. The day is celebrated annually on October 11. The purpose of Girl’s Day is to draw attention to the vulnerability of girls in different parts of the world and to promote their rights and opportunities. The goal of the day is also to highlight the status of girls in society and encourage them to dream and pursue their own goals.

The roots of Girls’ Day go back to 1995, when a declaration and an action program to promote women’s rights were adopted at the UN World Conference on Women in Beijing. The resolution emphasized the importance of girls’ and women’s rights and the need to fight for gender equality.

Girls’ Day is celebrated in different parts of the world with various events and campaigns. In many countries, the day is also used to highlight the importance of girls’ education and healthcare, and to fight against female genital mutilation and child marriage.
