What is decision making?

Decision-making is a process in which an individual or group chooses the most appropriate course of action or solution from alternatives. Decision-making can take place at many different levels, such as in an individual’s own life, within an organization or at the state level.

Decision-making is influenced by many different factors, such as goals, values, resources and environmental factors. Different methods and tools are often used in decision-making, such as decision trees, SWOT analyzes and cost-benefit analyses, with the help of which the aim is to make decisions that are as justified as possible.

The decision-making process can be well structured and rational, but often decisions are also made based on emotions and intuition. In decision-making, it is important to take into account different perspectives and listen to different parties before making a final decision.
