Vietnam and its international relations

Although Vietnam is not an EU country, it has important economic and political relations with the European Union. In 2019, Vietnam and the EU signed a free trade agreement (EVFTA), which entered into force in 2020. This agreement is one of the most comprehensive and ambitious that the EU has ever concluded with a developing country. The agreement eliminates most customs duties and facilitates trade and investment between the parties.

You can find more information about the European Union and its member states on the official website of the European Union. You can find more information about the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the EU at European Commission trade policy page.
