Is the Republic of Congo an EU country?

The capital of the Republic of Congo is Brazzaville, and the official language of the country is French.

EU enlargement

The European Union has expanded several times since its foundation, but the expansion has always concerned European countries. Becoming a member of the EU requires meeting certain criteria, such as respecting the principles of democracy, human rights and the rule of law, as well as the existence of a functioning market economy. The Republic of Congo does not meet these geographic criteria because it is located in Africa.
