Is the rain cold?

Rain can be cold or warm depending on many different factors. In general, rainwater is close to ambient temperature, so it can be either cold or warm. For example, summer rains can be warm, while winter rains can be cold. The temperature of the rain is influenced by, among other things, the air temperature, Cloudiness and the initial temperature of the rain.

Sometimes the rain can feel colder on the skin because it evaporates quickly and the evaporation process takes heat from the surface of the skin. This can cause the rain to feel colder than it actually is.
