Is Switzerland an EU country?

Switzerland is not a member of the European Union. Although Switzerland is located in Europe, it has never joined the EU. Instead, Switzerland is part of a country belonging to the European Economic Area (EEA), which enables it to participate in the EU internal market without full membership.

However, Switzerland has concluded numerous agreements with the EU, which regulate, among other things, trade, mobility and cooperation in various fields. Although Switzerland is not an EU country, it is closely connected to the European Union and its member states.
