Is Finland in the Eurozone?

Finland is part of the European Union, but it is not part of the member states of the euro area. The euro area includes the countries that have adopted a common currency, the euro. Finland joined the European Union in 1995, but decided to continue using its own currency, the Finnish markka. Finland considered joining the euro area in 1999, but in a referendum the majority of Finns voted against the euro.
