Is Egypt an EU country?
Egypt is not a member of the European Union (EU). The European Union is a political and economic union that includes 27 European countries. Located in North Africa and the Middle East, Egypt is an independent country that is not part of the EU. Geographical location of Egypt
Egypt is located in the northeastern part of Africa and its border neighbors are Libya in the west, Sudan in the south, and Israel and the Gaza Strip in the northeast. In the north, Egypt is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea and in the east by the Red Sea. Geographically, Egypt belongs to Africa and the Middle East, not Europe.

Even though Egypt is not an EU country, it has significant cooperative relations with the European Union. The EU and Egypt have concluded several agreements covering economic, political and social cooperation. These agreements include, among others, the Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement, which was signed in 2001 and entered into force in 2004. This agreement promotes trade, investment and political dialogue between the EU and Egypt.
Egypt’s position in the international community
Egypt is an active member of many international organizations, such as the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU) and the Arab League. It is also part of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Through these organizations, Egypt participates in global decision-making and international cooperation.
