Is Chad an EU country?

Chad is not a member of the European Union (EU). Chad is a landlocked country in Central Africa and is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. The EU currently includes 27 member states, which are mainly located in Europe. Chad is not one of these countries and has no special status in the EU.

Chad cooperates with the EU, especially in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid, but it is not a member of the EU.

Cooperation between the EU and Chad

Even though Chad is not an EU country, the EU is a major provider of development aid to Chad. The EU’s development cooperation with Chad focuses, among other things, on the following areas:

  3. Water supply and sanitation
  4. Food safety
  5. Good governance and human rights

Cooperation between the EU and Chad is important, as it helps to improve the living conditions of Chadian citizens and promotes the country’s development.
